Demi Lovato: Demi Lovato has had a phenomenal start to 2013. Spurred by first-week sales of 215,000, “Heart Attack,” the first single off her upcoming fourth album Demi, debuted at #1 on the iTunes’ chart in over 25 countries (including the U.S.) and #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single achieved Platinum status in the U.S. and Canada within weeks of its release. “Heart Attack” became the most added song on Top 40 Radio in the U.S. the week it premiered, and just hit #6 at Top 40 Radio with over 67 million in audience. The song was produced by The Suspex and co-written by Lovato.

Demi, which will be released on May 14th, is Lovato’s most personal album to date, and is an affirming celebration of life. Lovato co-wrote nearly every song on Demi, along with a team of top producers and writers including TheSUSPEX (Mitch Allan & Jason Evigan), Priscilla Renea, Ryan Tedder, Emanuel “Eman” Kiriakou, Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha, Ali Tamposi, The Monsters & Strangerz, Jonas Jeberg, Anne Preven and Matt Rad. The album is currently available on iTunes and on Amazon.com.

In March, Fox announced that Lovato will return as a judge and mentor on “The X Factor,” the hit television singing competition franchise, which launches its third season this fall. Last season, Lovato joined fellow new judge Britney Spears and returning judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, and was assigned as a mentor to the Young Adults category. As the youngest judge and mentor, Lovato brought a fresh perspective to the panel and received praise from critics for her banter with Cowell, spot-on critiques, genuine encouragement and active involvement as a judge. Each week, viewers watched as she worked with her mentees and developed a personal relationship with each.

“Give Your Heart a Break,” Lovato’s second and final single off of her third studio album, Unbroken (2011), received critical acclaim from contemporary music critics, praising the production as well as Lovato’s vocals. “Give Your Heart a Break” spent 32 weeks on the Hot 100 in 2012 and reached #1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart. The song also reached #1 status at both Mediabase and Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) in the Top 40 format. “Give Your Heart a Break” has sold over 1,800,000 digital copies, and was officially certified Platinum in the United States. The first single off Unbroken, “Skyscraper,” debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart, #2 on the Billboard Hot Digital Singles chart, and #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has sold over 1,300,000 digital copies and was also officially certified Platinum in the United States.

Lovato started in show business as a child and rose quickly. At fifteen, she was a bona fide TV star cultivating a promising singing career. In the late 2000s, while maintaining a rigorous TV and film shooting schedule, Lovato released two massively successful solo albums, Don’t Forget (2007) and Here We Go Again (2009); the former debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, the latter at #1.

Over the past few years, Lovato’s fans have only become more supportive. Lovatics, as they call themselves, recently won MTV’s “The Big & Best of 2012: Last Fans Standing” contest, topping Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters and Britney Spears’ Team Britney army. Lovato was an early adopter on social media, and has developed incredible support across her various networks, allowing her to engage and communicate directly with her fans across the globe. Lovato’s Facebook page has over 17,370,138 likes, and her Twitter handle has over 12,374,830 followers.

With all of her professional accomplishments, Lovato remains devoted to giving back. In 2011, in order to raise awareness about personal issues similar to her own, Lovato became a Contributing Editor to Seventeen magazine. She used Seventeen as a platform to discuss her personal issues as a part of a larger campaign called “Love is Louder than the Pressure to Be Perfect,” directed towards teen girls. After revealing that she had been bullied at the age of 12, Lovato has also supported numerous anti-bullying organizations. In 2012, she was named the ambassador for Secret’s “Mean Stinks,” an anti-bullying campaign to inspire students to “gang up for good” against girl-to-girl bullying. She also serves as an official Ambassador for the youth empowerment event We Day and the organization Free the Children, which works domestically and internationally to empower young people to remove barriers that prevent them from being active local and global citizens. Lovato recently appeared on a celebrity edition of The Price Is Right, earning almost $50,000 for Free the Children. She also recently launched the Demi Lovato Charity Boutique on eBay (http://stores.ebay.com/DEMI-LOVATO-Charity-Boutique), with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the organization to help children in developing communities around the world.

Hot Chelle Rae: Thanks to the recent release of their hit single "Tonight Tonight", Nashville group Hot Chelle Rae is becoming one of the hottest pop acts in the US. Whereas most singles of this caliber would come from highly anticipated albums, "Tonight Tonight" comes as a stand alone single that has all the necessary ingredients to turn the band into stars. The song has sparked a number of 2011 tour dates across the US that, combined with an ambitious start, are bound to find Hot Chelle Rae a few more fans.

Though they may not look like it or use it to their advantage, the members of Hot Chelle Rae have some big musical connections in Nashville. Ryan and Jamie Follese are the sons of country songwriter Keith Follese, lead guitarist Nash Overstreet is the son of country musician Paul Overstreet, and bassist Ian Keaggy is the son of guitarist Phil Keaggy. While the band took awhile to assimilate and create a uniform sound, the result became their much talked about 2009 debut album, Lovesick Electric. The album quickly became a hit and the boys were thrust into tour dates, photo shoots, interviews, and other promotional events that come with mainstream success. Instead of waiting to waiting to put "Tonight Tonight" on their next album, Hot Chelle Rae decided to capitalize on summer and release the upbeat, party anthem as a single with some hits from their previous album.

The result is not only a strong buzz running through the music industry, but also numerous 2011 tour dates with We the Kings, Big Time Crush, and The Script. The tour began in July and will extensively cover the US before ending on October 13. Be sure to catch these up-and-coming pop rock stars on their 2011 tour dates before they're selling out arenas.
